The foundations of Ventüer were laid in late 2003 when we began manufacturing aluminium louvre systems from a small factory in Invercargill. Starting with architectural sun shade louvres, the focus was originally on high end residential and light commercial projects in the lower South Island.
Fast forward 6 years to 2009, Insol Shading Systems (as the company was then known) had grown significantly and was involved in commercial construction projects throughout the length of New Zealand. Having established a position as a leading supplier of architectural sun shading products it was now time to diversify further, and the first ventilation systems were developed. Designed specifically for natural passive ventilation and mechanical plant screening, these products are still in active use today.
In 2011 the market requirement for high performance weather resistant louvres was recognised, and an inhouse testing facility was constructed to aid in the development of a world class product. After an extensive research and development phase the first self-draining louvres were ready, and to verify the inhouse test results and provide clients with confidence around the performance of the product these systems were then independently certified by a third-party laboratory in the UK.
As the company continued to grow, the need for a North Island branch was becoming too great to ignore and in 2012 the first Auckland factory opened its doors.
Product development has continued, with multi-stage weather louvres being added to the range in 2013, acoustic louvres included in 2014 and high-performance glass louvres coming on in 2015.
In 2019 the company decided that greater value could be delivered to its diversifying client base if it split into two parts. The Insol brand was retained for the division that focuses on design and engineering of bespoke commercial facades, and the more product-oriented building ventilation division became Ventüer.
Building on our history of innovation and marketing leading product development, Ventüer today continues to improve the ventilation of modern buildings. The name itself, taken from the Latin words “ventus”, meaning air or wind, and “tüer”, meaning to protect, represents our mission to improve life quality, reduce environmental impact and lower construction costs through our innovative development and sustainable manufacture of building ventilation products.
We focus on our distinctive capabilities and place emphasis on the areas where we can deliver the most value. With this in mind, we made an early decision to not get involved in commercial contracting but rather use our experience in this area to support those that specialise in site work and installation. Our customer service and technical support teams are a key strength, and we strive for continuous improvement in these areas. With facilities in Auckland and Invercargill, we are fully equipped to support any designer, specifier, contractor or commercial construction project throughout the length of New Zealand.
Our Products & Services
We take pride in the fact that our products achieve results that others can’t, improving the quality of buildings and ensuring value is delivered.

They are also flexible enough to be adapted to suit project specific requirements. To this end we place a high emphasis on staying up to date with latest building practices and requirements, and maintaining close relationships with specifiers and designers.
